Asbestos

Asbestos is a long-fibrous material and harmful for health. It can be found, for example, in insulation around old heating pipes and ventilation ducts, in floor mats and ceiling tiles, old roofing felt and facade material. You can leave a maximum of 30 litres of well-packaged asbestos at the recycling station. Larger quantities are delivered to the waste centre in Teuva.

Combustible construction waste

Gloves, dried brushes and rollers, Styrofoam, plastic(not PVC), paper, mixed cleaning and sweeping waste containing pieces of wood,wire stumps, pieces of polyurethane, etc. You can leave a maximum of 3 m³ of combustible waste at the recycling station at a time. Larger loads are delivered to the waste centre in Teuva.

Concrete and brick

Concrete blocks, toilet seats, sinks, porcelain vessels and tiles, roof tiles, other bricks and light clinker. You can leave a maximum of 1 m³ of concrete and brick at the recycling station at a time, and the pieces must be of such a size that they can be carried to the container. Larger quantities and blocks that must be tipped are delivered to the waste centre in Teuva.

Electrical appliances

All electrical and battery-operated appliances such as fridges and freezers, coffee makers, remote controlled toys, clocks, televisions and food processors. We accept a maximum of three identical devices at a time, for example three identical televisions.

Flat glass

Window glass, mirrors and glass containers, maximum 500 litres per time.

Gypsum boards

A maximum of three plaster boards per time. Larger quantities of plasterboard are delivered to the waste centre in Teuva.

Hazardous waste

Car batteries, low-energy lamps, waste oil, fluorescent tubes, leftover paint, glue and varnish, detergents labelled as hazardous waste, oil filters and other solid oily waste. You can leave a maximum of one oil drum, i.e. 200 litres, waste oil or oil and water mixture to the recycling station per time. Other hazardous waste no more than 100 kg per time.

Landfill waste

Landfill waste primarily includes mineral wool and windshields. You can leave a maximum of 1 m³ of landfill waste at the recycling station at a time. Larger quantities are delivered directly to the waste centre in Teuva.

Metal

All types of metal and metal objects such as roofing sheets, metal buckets, metal barrels, pipes, taps, tools, nails andother metal scrap are counted as metal. You can leave a maximum of 3 m³ ofmetal at the recycling station at a time.

Pressure impregnated wood

Impregnated wood can be delivered to the recycling station in pieces of less than one meter and no more than 1 m³ per time. Impregnated telephone poles and railway sleepers are only handed over to the waste centre in Teuva.

Roofing felt

You can leave a maximum of 50 litres of roofing feltat the recycling station. Larger quantities are delivered to the waste centrein Teuva.

Wood waste

Wood waste includes, for example, boards, planks, plywood and other types of boards as well as wooden furniture (but not impregnated wood). Nails and hinges do not need to be removed. Maximum 3 m³ per time. Larger quantities are delivered to the waste centre in Teuva.

 

Where can construction waste be taken?

Construction waste can be taken to the recycling stations during opening hours. Large batches of waste consisting of a single type of waste are taken to the waste centre in Teuva. The following waste must also be taken to the waste centre:

· Over 1 m³ landfill waste, concrete or impregnated wood.

· Over 3 m³ of wood, metal or combustible waste.

· Over 50 litres of roofing felt or more than three gypsum boards.

 

What happens to the construction waste?

Some examples of what happens with construction waste:

- Concrete and bricks are crushed and used as materials for land construction.

- Plaster is used to make new plaster.

- Asphalt is made from roofing felt.
